Adam Matelan’s Lighthouse Beach Senior Portraits

I had the pleasure of taking the senior portraits of another soon-to-be graduate from my alma mater, McDowell High School. Although 2020 has certainly been an odd year, we’re certain that Adam Matelan and the rest of the class of 2021 will go on to do extraordinary things. It’s an honor to commemorate this huge milestone with Adam, and we’re thrilled to share some of his  Lighthouse Beach senior portraits with you now.

Meet Adam

Adam is planning to take after his mother, hoping to study pre-medicine at either Gannon, Duquesne, or Penn State University. With such a complicated major, it’s clear that Adam is a driven student — maybe that’s why his dad surprised him with a car! This exciting gift was so fun to work into Adam’s photo session, and really helped let his personality shine.

We had a blast getting to know Adam and all of his hopes for the future. We’re confident that he will accomplish amazing things, no matter where life takes him. He’s a model student, and it was such a privilege to have him as a student model!

Lighthouse Beach Senior Portraits

Presque Isle State Park is a gorgeous staple of Erie, and a favorite location of ours for senior portraits sessions. With water fronts, wooded areas, secluded trials, and stunning views, there are endless options for backdrops and poses. It’s a photographer’s dream!

For Adam’s shoot, we opted to take his senior portraits at Lighthouse Beach, home of the historic Presque Isle Lighthouse. It was put into service in 1873, over eighty years before me and Adam’s high school was built. Our incorporation of Adam’s new car into the shoot made things a bit more modern, but the rustic brick, nature, and streaming sunlight did not go unappreciated.
