With COVID-19 changing how school looks for many, it was exciting to do senior photos in Erie, PA with Alyssa Bastow. When I heard that Alyssa is a senior at McDowell High School I was beyond excited as this was the same high school I attended. It was nice to reminisce on my high school days with the current senior, who plans to attend Edinboro University to major in marketing and creative writing. We choose two of Alyssa’s favorite outdoor locations for her senior photos: the Erie Zoo and Presque Isle State Park.

A CHANGE OF PLANS

Since COVID-19 required us to change our original plans at The Erie Zoo, we decided to go Presque Isle State Park and Frontier Park instead. We thought it worked out perfectly. Not only were they two of Alyssa’s favorite places, but locations where we also enjoy photographing. As local Erie PA photographers, we always love shooting at the local parks.

SUMMERTIME SENIOR PHOTOS IN ERIE, PA

We started the senior photo session at Frontier Park, which was gorgeous, with all the trees in bloom. Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park provides numerous outdoor spots to capture portraits with beautiful surroundings. One of our favorite spots is the Virtual Tree Gazebo, which sits on the banks of relaxing Cascade Creek. We then headed over to Presque Isle State Park to end the senior portrait session at Lighthouse Beach at sunset. Alyssa loved the idea of shooting senior photos at sunset! For her, it represents the sun was setting on a beloved chapter of her life.
